How to create a warm touch in your interior
As an interior stylist, I am often asked: "How do you make your home cosy and inviting?" A warm interior is all about the feeling of comfort and hospitality. It starts with a solid foundation: a beautiful colour scheme, the right materials, and personal accents.
Where do you start when creating your dream interior?
The first step in achieving your dream interior is establishing the foundation. Start by choosing your floor and walls. Pick a floor that radiates warmth, such as wood-look LVT paired with a warm rug. For the walls, select a soft and neutral colour palette. Think of shades like warm white, beige, or soft grey. They all add a warm touch to your interior.
The search for warm and suitable materials
Are you looking for a warm atmosphere in your interior? When choosing materials, think of warm and soft-to-the-touch textures. For example, wood is a classic and naturally radiates warmth. When selecting your floor, several factors may play an important role. Is the floor practical? For a beautiful wood-look floor that brings out a sense of calm and is also practical, you might choose an XL LVT plank in a neutral shade.
For warm fabrics, preferably choose for soft materials such as wool, velvet, felt, or washed linen. These materials not only feel warm but also add that special atmosphere to a room. Don’t forget to pay attention to the lighting as well. A good lighting plan can make a big difference in highlighting the right accents in your interior.
Create a mood board and get a clear view of your style
Before you start decorating, it’s important to gather inspiration. Platforms like Pinterest and home magazines can be very helpful. Start by creating a mood board with images that speak to you. Pay attention to the colors, materials, and styles that appear in the pictures you choose.
This way, you can already tell from the inspiration images what appeals to you in terms of style. A mood board will help you get a clear idea of what you like and what fits your personal style.
Warmth is in the details
When creating a warm interior, it’s important to listen to your own preferences. Combine different elements in a way that works for you. Warmth is often found in the details: personal accents, beautiful artworks, and carefully chosen accessories. This way, you turn your house into a warm and welcoming place where everyone feels at home!
