Daily maintenance: vacuum with the right brush
Dust and sand are the biggest enemies of any floor. Those tiny particles can cause fine scratches over time. That is why daily or regular vacuuming is the best foundation.
- Use a soft parquet brush. It glides smoothly over the surface without leaving streaks.
- Sand and dust are removed immediately, preserving the matte finish.
- The floor feels instantly cleaner and smoother under your feet.
Weekly maintenance: mop with a slightly damp cloth
When mopping an LVT floor, use only a lightly damp cloth. Not wet, not heavy. Just lukewarm water and a well-wrung cloth is enough.
- Light dampness prevents streaks and preserves the matte finish.
- Lukewarm water removes everyday dirt without harsh chemicals.
- The floor dries quickly, so no moisture remains in seams or edges.
A special cleaner is not strictly necessary. Hebeta tests all their floors with James cleaning products. Using James Basic Cleaner or James Floor Cleaner ensures your floor is cleaned without damaging the protective layer.
Things you should avoid
Some things may seem convenient, but they can damage your floor over time. Hebeta is clear about this:
- Avoid aggressive cleaning products such as all-purpose cleaners, bleach, or degreasers
- Do not mop with too much water
- Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads
- Do not use a steam cleaner, as it is too hot and intense for LVT

Doormat at the front door
Mud and sand are less likely to end up on the floor. This really makes a difference in high-traffic areas.
